Senior Instrument Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development

• Develop detailed design specifications for instrumentation and control systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare and review technical documents, including P&IDs, instrument datasheets, and loop diagrams.
• Perform selection and sizing of field instruments, control valves, and safety devices.

Project Execution

• Manage instrumentation engineering activities across all phases of FPSO projects, from concept to commissioning.
• Ensure timely delivery of project deliverables, meeting quality and budgetary requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate instrumentation systems with process, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, including calculations, drawings, and specifications.

Vendor and Contractor Management

• Evaluate vendor proposals and provide technical recommendations for instrument selection.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure alignment with project specifications and requirements.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure adherence to international codes, standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, API), and safety regulations.
• Conduct HAZOP/LOPA reviews and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Testing and Commissioning

• Develop FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) procedures for instrumentation systems.
• Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with significant exposure to FPSO or oil and gas projects.
• Hands-on experience with DCS, SIS, PLC, and field instrumentation systems.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in industry software (e.g., SPI/Intools, AutoCAD, and SmartPlant).
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, HART/Fieldbus communication protocols, and control strategies.
• Familiarity with hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety requirements.
