Work Location: Central (Bugis)

Workdays: Monday - Friday, 9am to 6pm

We are looking for a Senior Lighting Designer to join our team. This role covers all aspects of lighting design, from concept development through to construction, across a portfolio of hospitality, cultural, and infrastructure projects. The Senior Lighting Designer will report to the Associates and Directors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop lighting design concepts that align with the architectural vision and client brief.
• Prepare lighting layouts, fixture schedules, and design documentation across project stages.
• Research and specify lighting fixtures and controls suited to project needs and budget.
• Liaise with architects, consultants, and clients to coordinate design and technical requirements.
• Manage project schedules and design deliverables.
• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Support tender and construction documentation.
• Attend project meetings, site visits, and design reviews.
• Assist with on-site lighting focusing, testing, and commissioning as required.
• Mentor and train Assistant Lighting Designers and junior team members.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• Experience in lighting design is preferred but not essential. We welcome applicants who are passionate about lighting and eager to learn and grow in the field of lighting design.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop; familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, or lighting calculation software is a plus.
• Strong design sensibility, good communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced studio environment.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous, to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and coordinate with counterparts in China/Greater China on project matters.
