Senior Optical Engineer

Job Description:

• Design, develop, and optimize photonics devices and systems with a focus on laser technologies.


• Provide technical leadership and drive engineering efforts in product and technology transfer activities.


• Support the smooth introduction of new products into volume manufacturing, including training production personnel and developing documented work instructions.


• Support multidisciplinary production activities by troubleshooting technical issues related to components, products, and systems, as well as conducting testing for new and existing designs with proper documentation through engineering change processes.


• Design and execute optical experiments and characterization setups to validate system performance and ensure compliance with specifications.


• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives and apply data-driven analysis to identify root causes of complex technical issues, while proposing and implementing effective corrective actions.


• Participate in reliability testing, failure analysis, and qualification of optical components and systems.


• Ensure compliance with relevant optical, safety, and industry standards in all design and testing activities.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s Degree or PhD in Laser, Optics, Photonics, or equivalent qualification.


• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in photonics devices or systems.


• Experience in laser design, development, and testing.


• Experience in the semiconductor or precision manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.


• Proficient in laser systems, optics, and photonics components.


• Proven experience in test and measurement equipment as well as test station development.


• Knowledge of optical modeling software such as Zemax will be an added advantage.


• Experience in manufacturing methodologies and procedures is preferred.


• Possess strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.


• A good team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.


• Strong structured problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
