Senior Risk Manager

Our client, a well- established investment firm with a focus on proprietary trading with a presence in Singapore and Asia is expanding their business in APAC and is looking for a Senior Risk Manager to join them.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Monitor real-time and end-of-day risk across multiple trading strategies and asset classes.
2. Conduct post-trade analysis to identify drivers of P&L, risk, and drawdowns.
3. Develop and maintain quantitative risk models for intraday exposure, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
4. Assist with backtesting, calibration, and validation of risk analytics using high-frequency datasets.
5. Design and maintain position, exposure, and P&L limit structures.
6. Manage limit change workflows, approvals, and audit trails.
7. Produce daily and intraday risk reports for management.
8. Partner with technology teams to enhance data pipelines, dashboards, and monitoring tools.
9. Work with compliance and regulatory teams to ensure adherence to exchange and jurisdictional rules, including kill switches, throttles, and self-trade prevention.

Skills Required:

1. Have a Bachelors or Advanced Degree (Masters or PhD) in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or similar quantitative field
2. Proficient in Python; familiarity with Linux, C++, SQL, and large-scale data handling is beneficial
3. 6–8+ years of experience in trading risk, market risk, operational risk, market-making, or quantitative trading environments
4. Strong understanding of trading strategies, market microstructure, and how risk manifests in fast markets
5. Ability to communicate clearly with traders, engineers, operations, and senior leadership
6. Strong judgment under time-sensitive and high-pressure situations
