RESPONSIBILITIES
o To readily identify and assess risks inherent in highly complex cases by integrating a range of information
o To readily use professional tools and working templates to guide staff in case assessment and case planning
o To represent the centre in its advocacy efforts for vulnerable families, with the aim of advocating for these families to have access to equal opportunities through collaborative practice with community partners
o To lead in the conduct of client / community assessments, adapt group/community work processes and specialized intervention strategies
o To integrate best practices into group / community work
o To monitor supervisees’ compliance to professional processes (such as the use of tools and templates, adherence to practice policies)
o To assess supervisees’ capabilities, identify professional growth areas and build training interventions to meet the growth areas.
o As the identified Practice Lead of the Centre, to induct new hires in the centre through individual supervision during their probation period
o To support the Lead Social Workers / Lead Social Service Professionals in the implementation of centre’s operational and practice protocols, processes and policies
REQUIREMENTS
o Domain expert knowledge of the relevant field
o Possess relational skills to effectively network with government agencies, churches and community partners to place the agencies and the organization in good standing for the benefit of clients.
o A good understanding of the quality standards required of each service under his/her purview
o Knowledge and ability to engage, assess, provide intervention and evaluate practice
o Ability to understand client groups and manage risk as well as protective factors
o Competency in reflective practice and engage stakeholders as well as partners
o Application of SASW code of professional ethics and Code of Social Work Practice
o Knowledge of systems and availability of resources with a view to represent clients’ needs
o Empower clients to access needed resources
o Ability to identify available resources, social gaps and conduct relevant analyses
o Possess cultural understanding and social sensitivity
o Understand self, personal values, beliefs and the way these impact the working relationship with clients
o Engage in self-care and active learning
o Possess positive attitude with good interpersonal and written communication skills
