Senior Software Engineer

You will work with new or established products, depending on your preference, giving you flexibility to rewrite current applications or create new ones. You will be a central decision maker, but we’ll give you all the tools and a team needed to realize your vision.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer that will play an instrumental part in shaping the Engineering & Technology team. You’ll shape your workday too, working with a dedicated team of developers and product owners that own a product end-to-end.

What we are looking for  

• A champion of experimentation and failing – testing out new technologies, techniques or ways of using what you already know in new ways. 
• Someone who is proficient in at least one of the following languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C# (if you have other languages, you can use them as well, the right tool for the job gets the job done)  
• Someone curious and willing to learn both new technologies and about the shipping industry 
• High degree of independence and a wish to make a real impact on thousands of seafarers as well as the shore side of the shipping industry 
• A developer that not only wants to write code, but also work closely with customers, go out in the field to see and test the impact of the solutions that we build 

Who are we 

• Our digital team in Norway and Singapore currently consists of 15 people working with design, product management and software development 
• We work closely with the rest of Wilhelmsen Ships Service, which have a worldwide presence and deliver products and services in over 2000 ports. Our closest coworkers are not only people with technical background, but can be experts on ropes, chemists, and engineers performing vessel inspections. 
• We develop applications from the ground up, taking ownership in all parts of the development, as well as the entire lifecycle of the applications
