Senior Software Engineer

As a lead engineer/senior engineer, your primary responsibility will be to lead /participate in the creation of new products and enhancements to existing products from requirement to launch as part of a cross functional team involved in the development of equipment control and automation SW. You are required to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, sustain and document software changes for new requirements, enhancements and defects.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Perform analysis, design and implementation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, processes, and product / program requirements\n * Engage with global teams to effectively translate customer requirements to software requirements and identify potential solutions that are optimized to operate with in constraints of the product\n * Troubleshoot variety of complex software problems\n * Diagnose and resolve issues across application, OS, and hardware layers by performing systematic root\u2011cause analysis.\n * Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and platform teams to troubleshoot and fix end\u2011to\u2011end system issues\n * Provide timely status updates and proactive communications on issues to the stakeholders.\n * Able to interface with internal and external stake holders regarding software issues.\n * Contribute as part of teams put together to meet overall organization initiatives/objectives\n * As a technical lead,\n * Guide team efforts towards successful deliverables.\n * Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.\n * Able to effectively manage escalations and operate under crisis\n * Have the ability and willingness to acquire in-depth understanding of domain and existing products (beyond software) and apply that knowledge to develop new products and to deliver enhancements/ fixes for customer requirements.\n\n\n\nExperience, Skills and Educational Requirements:\n\n * Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science/Information Science/Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation with strong back ground in Industrial automation software\n * 8-12 years of experience with 3 + years of experience in product software development with prior experience in supervisory control systems software\n * Strong C, C+ programming on variety of Windows platforms using Microsoft technologies\n * Sound knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals \u2013 data structures, algorithms, operating system concepts\n * Excellent analytical skills, methodical problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills\n * Exposure to hardware\u2011dependent or system\u2011level application development is desirable.\n * Prior experience of working in global teams and interfacing with multiple stake holders\n * Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact with extended teams spread across the globe.\n * Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills and technologies as needed\n * Ability to meet objectives, goals and deadlines with minimal supervision\n * Knowledge of Industrial communication standards like RS232, Modbus, DeviceNet, EtherCAT would be a plus\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n7 - 10 Years\n\n### Work Experience:\n\n## Additional Information\n\n### \n\n### Shift:\n\nDay (Singapore)\n\n### \n\n### Travel:\n\nYes, 10% of the Time\n\n### \n\n### Relocation Eligible:\n\nYes\n\n### Referral Payment Plan:\n\nEmployee Referral (Enhanced)\n\nApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
