Senior Speech AI Engineer

AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF), Singapore, to build and anchor deep national capabilities in AI.  AISG is supported through a government-wide partnership including the NRF, Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Economic Development Board (EDB) and Enterprise Singapore (ESG). We bring together research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies to support impactful research, develop talent, and power Singapore's AI efforts.

This position will be hosted at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and we welcome you to join our community. We are looking for a Lead/Senior Speech AI Engineer to develop robust voice applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model development: Design, train, and fine-tune state-of-the-art Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) models tailored to specific domains, accents, and multilingual contexts.

• Pipeline Evaluation: Conduct rigorous testing and evaluation of voice pipelines

• Voice Application Architecture and Engineering: Design voice applications that are scalable and have low latency

Job Requirements:

• Master / PhD qualification degree in AI or related field

• At least 5 years of relevant experiences in working on Speech AI / LLMs

• Strong programming proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).

• Familiarity with modern speech libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, Whisper, Wav2Vec).

• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) to complement speech-to-text pipelines.

• Experience with model deployment and containerization (e.g., Docker) in real-world environments.
