Job Summary:
The Payroll Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the payroll systems and processes to ensure accurate and timely salary payments. This role involves system maintenance, compliance with local laws and regulations, troubleshooting issues, and providing support for payroll-related queries. The successful candidate will ensure that all payroll activities are conducted efficiently and securely, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Processing:
Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Payroll
Handle staff resignation and income tax related matters
Support in administration of staff benefits includes reimbursement, update of Annual Leaves, Medical Leaves & etc.
Cross checking new hire staff personal data keyed in by TA team.
2. System Maintenance and Support:
Maintain and update the payroll system, ensuring it is functioning correctly and efficiently.
Implement system upgrades and patches as necessary, working with IT and software vendors.
3. Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations related to payroll, tax, and statutory requirements.
Assist in audits and inspections by providing necessary payroll information and documentation.
4. Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the payroll system.
Develop and implement best practices for payroll operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with HR, finance, and IT teams to streamline payroll processes and integrate systems.
5. Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring all employee information is up-to-date and securely stored.
Document payroll processes and procedures, creating and maintaining a payroll manual for reference.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll-related documents and records.
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Diploma in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in a similar role.
Proficiency in payroll software and systems; experience with Timesoft is a plus.
Strong understanding of Singapore payroll laws and regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with payroll system implementations or upgrades.
Certification in payroll management or related field is an advantage.
