Social Media Specialist, Shin Min

The Chinese Media Group is seeking a highly motivated Social Media Specialist to join its Shin Min team. The core responsibilities are to work closely with Editor/Supervisors to define the overall direction for the social media platform to reach out to new audiences, track and monitor performance of social media content and to independently produce short video content/posts for social media as required. 

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of overall social media platform strategy (with an emphasis on Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok) in consultation with the Shin Min team e.g. identifying clear content pillars, format and tone. 

• Develop posting frameworks for Shin Min, create SOPs and standardised templates for short reels, carousels etc 

• Train team on using templates and applying platform rules.

• Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices for various social media platforms and work with the team to experiment with trending formats/hashtags/templates etc. 

• Develop plans to grow followers for social media platforms

• Track and analyse performance of content on social media

• Advise editors/reporters on angles, hooks and format for various platforms on a daily basis depending on the news of the day

• Create short video reels / posts on news events etc for fast turnaround on social media platforms as required

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree 

• At least 3 year of related working experience

• Effectively bilingual ( English/ Chinese ). 

• Highly creative

• Keen interest in the latest trends and news

• Demonstrable knowledge of best practices for various social media platforms

• Organised and able to handle multiple projects on tight deadlines 

• Experience in Capcut/ Canva
