Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home(CSLMCH)
At Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home, we believe every child deserves safety, dignity, healing, and hope. Guided by this belief, we work closely with children and families to restore stability, strengthen relationships, and support long‑term well‑being through trauma‑informed and family‑centric care.

If you are a passionate social work professional who wants your work to truly matter, we invite you to join our multidisciplinary team and be part of life‑changing journeys for vulnerable children and families.

Make a Meaningful Impact

Join a purpose-driven residential care service supporting female Children & Young Persons (CYPs) in need of care and protection. At CSLMCH, we deliver trauma-informed, child-centred and family-focused interventions aligned with MSF standards and practice frameworks.

About the Role

You will provide professional casework and care planning for female residents assessed under CANS 1 (Low Needs) and CANS 2(Moderate Needs). The role involves working within a residential children’s home setting, applying structured interventions to support safety, stability, and reintegration outcomes. You will be part of a team comprising Residential Care Officers and Youth Work Associates who oversee the daily operations of the dormitories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and review Individual Care Plans (ICP) in accordance with MSF requirements
  • Monitor residents’ progress across behavioural, emotional, developmental and psychosocial domains
  • Prepare case reports, risk assessments, and review documentation in a timely and professional manner

Residential Care Practice

  • Apply evidence-informed residential care practices in managing female CYPs with trauma histories
  • Maintain structure, routines, and therapeutic milieu within the residential setting
  • Manage group dynamics, peer relationships and behavioural challenges using consistent approaches
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, including self-harm, AWOL risks, and emotional distress

Family Work & Reintegration

  • Engage families using a family-centric approach to support reunification where appropriate
  • Conduct home visits and facilitate home leave planning and reviews
  • Coordinate and implement reintegration plans aligned with case goals and MSF care planning processes

Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal care staff, psychologists, and programme teams
  • Liaise with external stakeholders (MSF, schools, FSCs, hospitals)
  • Participate in case conferences, Child Protection processes, and inter-agency reviews

Education & Development Support

  • Monitor educational progress and coordinate with schools
  • Support life skills development and transition planning for independent living

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all case documentation meets MSF licensing, audit and organisational standards
  • Maintain accurate records in case management systems

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree or Graduate Diploma in Social Work from a recognised institution. Qualifications in psychology, counselling and related fields will be considered.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably working with female CYPs in a residential children’s home setting
  • Familiarity with MSF Child Protection and residential care frameworks will be an advantage
  • Strong competencies in assessment, case planning and risk management
  • Good report writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team within a residential care environment
