Sourcing Manager

The impact you’ll make:

• Represent Procurement in a development center and ensures Early Supplier Involvement, Supplier Selection and overall procurement support in new development projects


• Identify opportunities in the new product design process to improve the design decision making and supports price negotiations with fact-based information and opportunities to drive short and / or long-term product cost reduction improvement


• Optimize Total Cost of Ownership in product and business creation and through the full life cycle


• Ensure that optimized TCO (cost, quality, availability) are assured in product development / business creation and through their full life cycle, utilizing DFX


• Drive RFQ process based on commodity strategy and Supplier Selection Process together with the Commodity Teams


• Implement the Procurement and Commodity strategy via sourcing decision


• Ensure potential risks (cost, quality, availability) in new development projects are controlled and mitigated.


• Support Supplier Quality Manager in new supplier component release process as part of the Advanced Product Quality Plan (APQP), including compliance and sustainability aspects


• Provide input for make or buy analysis and supports the in/outsourcing process (e.g. knowledge transfer, supplier ramp-up)


• Align needs with competitive landscape and technology roadmaps


• Perform data mining from various platforms and use analytic tools to translate data into actionable procurement business insights

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

• Bachelor degree or above, major in Engineering, Business Management or Supply Chain / Procurement preferred


• At least 5 - 10 years’ experience on procurement management in global companies / organizations, with expertise in new product development or NPI project, Value Engineering, commodity management, and manufacturing environment


• Good stakeholder engagement and convincing/influencing skills, comfortable working with cross functions including R&D, Marketing, Quality & Regulatory, and Legal/IP


• A team player who is both proactive and cooperative; easily gains trust and support of peers; encourages collaboration and challenges constructively


• Data-driven, and analytical thinking with knowledge of Power BI, SAP, Excel, and proficiency in translating data into business insight


• Self-driven, Fast learning capability, willing to embrace changes and challenge status quo


• Strong negotiation skills and supplier management skills


• Prepared to travel up to 10%-20% of the time


• Fluent in verbal and written English, and Chinese Mandarin a plus as liaising with China counterparts is required
