Job's mission



As a Purchasing Specialist II, you will play an important role in strengthening the flow of materials that keeps our advanced manufacturing running smoothly. You will turn data into insights that help drive timely purchasing decisions, improve supplier performance, and ensure continuity across our global supply chain. Your work directly supports ASM’s mission by enabling operational excellence that powers the innovations shaping the future of semiconductor technology.

What you will be working on



  • Extract, analyze, and report data using SAP Business Intelligence, Power BI, and internal tools to support purchasing operations.

  • Deliver accurate and timely daily and weekly reports to guide operational decisions.

  • Conduct deep‑dive analyses to identify supply chain improvement opportunities.

  • Monitor internal KPI performance and highlight trends that support operational excellence.

  • Follow up on post‑implementation actions to ensure sustained improvements.

  • Support issue resolution using data‑driven insights and system diagnostics.

  • Manage direct purchasing tasks, including PO creation, issuance, confirmation, rescheduling, and cancellations.

  • Ensure materials are delivered on time to meet production needs.

  • Align supplier delivery plans with production and customer demand.

  • Ensure continuity of supply during product transfers.

  • Resolve vendor issues including invoice discrepancies, goods receipt exceptions, and returns.

  • Review and improve daily work methods.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.

  • Monitor and drive supplier on‑time delivery (OTD) performance.

  • Expedite supply and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to close material gaps.

  • Partner with planning teams and project managers to manage critical shortages.

  • Manage supplier commit updates in Ariba with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Liaise between ASM account/supplier management teams and suppliers for delivery alignment.

  • Coordinate Open Order Reports and ensure timely supplier confirmations.

  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Support additional supply chain or cross‑functional projects as assigned.


 


What we are looking for



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative work environment.

  • Detail‑oriented with strong accountability when managing data and commitments.

  • Strong coordination skills across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.


What sets you apart



  • Familiarity with SAP S4/HANA and Power BI.

  • Experience working with suppliers or in a supply chain operations environment.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
