ID:\n\nJR94513 SSD Customer Validation Engineer\n\nOur vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.\n\nMicron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.\n\nAs an SSD Validation Development Engineer in the Solid State Drives (SSD) group at Micron Technology, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the test automation infrastructure used to validate Enterprise Storage System interoperability for SSDs using NAND Flash memory products. You will solve complex problems, be responsible for enabling Micron\u2019s products with flawless and issue free release to customers. \n\nIn this role, you will characterize test computing environments and develop script to interface to cutting edge SSD products. Your focus will be on creating robust and concise test designs that can run across a multitude of test platforms. These test platforms will include Linux and Windows servers running internally developed test scripts in concert with NVMe storage topologies. \n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Design and implement cross-platform APIs for Enterprise SSD validation and characterization.\n\n * Develop and integrate the APIs of new test equipment/tools for test automation.\n\n * Define, plan and execute a test automation strategy, to contribute to the on-going development of in-house automation frameworks/tools.\n\n * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust test designs based on new feature or customer requirements.\n\n * Troubleshoot SSD and software integration issues, implement systematic approaches to reproduce and root cause the problem.\n\n * Constantly evaluate, refine and enhance validation approaches to drive better coverage and shift-left the detection of failures from customer to internal test framework.\n\n * Identify automation opportunities and implement solutions to improve test scalability and efficiency.\n\n * Maintain good documentation on the test methodologies, workflows and results to ensure future traceability and reference.\n\n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering or equivalent.\n\n * Experience in object-oriented programming concepts; Python required\n\n * Ability to communicate complex design patterns through UML documentation.\n\n * Working experience in Windows or Linux stack/kernel/driver is highly desired.\n\n * Good hands-on experience in operating systems API such as process controls, memory management and device driver interactions would be beneficial.\n\n * Excellent knowledge of system storage and the relationship to the platform peripherals: CPU, memory, PCIe, drivers, OS, firmware is a plus.\n\n * Ability to analyze problems, diagnose to root cause, and apply corrective actions.\n\n * Experience with Agile product development processes and project management.\n\n * Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation and teamwork skills across sites \u0026 time zones.\n\n * Flexibility and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing environment with shifting demands.\n\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nFirmware Engineer 1\n\nRelocation level: (TBD)\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
