ID:\n\nJR97181 Staff/Senior Engineer, Firmware Test, SSD\n\nOur vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.\n\nMicron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.\n\n# Responsibilities\n\n * Own and implement SSD security firmware test strategies across development, qualification, and sustaining phases\n * Design and implement grey\u2011box / white\u2011box security tests for firmware features and protocols\n * Analyze security failures from regressions, customer issues, and field escapes with deep root\u2011cause analysis\n * Drive security test automation, regression integration, and reporting\n * Partner with firmware developers and architects on secure design and code reviews\n * Communicate security risks, coverage, and mitigation plans to cross\u2011functional teams and leadership\n * Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in SSD security validation\n\n\n\n### \n\n# \n\n# Requirements\n\n * Strong experience in SSD security testing, including:\n * TCG Opal / Enterprise SSC\n * NVMe security commands and authentication flows\n * Secure Erase / Crypto\u2011Erase\n * Experience with SPDM, DICE / CMA, and platform authentication flows\n * Hands\u2011on knowledge of Caliptra or hardware Root of Trust architectures\n * Experience validating secure boot, ROM\u2011based boot chains, and firmware measurement flows\n * Applied cryptography knowledge, including:\n * AES, RSA, ECC, SHA\u20112 / SHA\u20113\n * Post\u2011Quantum Cryptography (PQC) concepts and migration considerations\n * Secure key lifecycle management\n * Familiarity with FIPS 140\u20112 / FIPS 140\u20113 concepts and crypto module behavior\n * Strong background in embedded firmware systems and Python\u2011based test automation\n * Solid understanding of SSD security architecture, PCIe / NVMe\n * Proven ability to lead technical discussions across global, cross\u2011functional teams\n\n\n\n### \n\n# \n\n# Qualifications\n\n * B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent\n * 3+ years experience in SSD firmware testing or firmware development\n * Deep understanding of storage industry protocols such as NVMe\n * Security\u2011focused firmware validation experience strongly preferred\n * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills\n * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a great teammate\n * Candidates with 2-3 years of experience but strong Python programming skills and test development experience may be considered for entry-level positions\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nFirmware Engineer 4\n\nRelocation level: (TBD)\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
