Supplier Engineer (Based in JB)

Key Responsibilities\n\n * Work with New Product Development teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.\n\n * Interact with New Product Introduction teams to ensure suppliers are involved in the development and review of specifications to promote design for manufacturability.\n\n * Use project management skills and quality tools to investigate alternate manufacturing processes for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability. \n\n * Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology.\n\n * Assist in the supplier technical audit process and evaluate supplier performance and capability, drive continuous improvement opportunities at supplier. \n\n * Assist with quality problem resolutions and incident management, drive root cause and correction action.\n\n * Evaluates technical requirements of new and existing products. Applies knowledge of qualified sources and products to recommend materials to Design Engineering, which would result in savings, lead time reductions, system improvements, increased life and/or mitigated risk.\n\n * Perform supplier production assessment to ensure serial production readiness for transferred and new modules\n\n\n\n\nEducation \u0026 Experience\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering\n\n * 3\u20135 years of experience in supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, or mechanical engineering within manufacturing or semiconductor industry\n\n * Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, casting, precision assembly)\n\n * Proficiency in interpreting and validating engineering drawings and specifications, including GD\u0026T\n\n * Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies (FMEA, SPC, 8D problem-solving, root cause analysis)\n\n * Experience in supplier audits, capability assessments, and production readiness evaluations\n\n\n\n\nSoft Skills\n\n * Strong project management skills to drive cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives\n\n * Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional and supplier engagement\n\n * Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities\n\n * Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities\n\n\n\n\nOther Requirements\n\n * Willingness to travel to supplier sites (up to 30%)\n\n * Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus\n\n\n\n\nWork Location\n\n * Johor Bahru office\n\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n4 - 7 Years\n\n### Work Experience:\n\n## Additional Information\n\n### \n\n### Shift:\n\nDay (Malaysia)\n\n### \n\n### Travel:\n\nYes, 50% of the Time\n\n### \n\n### Relocation Eligible:\n\nYes\n\n### Referral Payment Plan:\n\nEmployee Referral (Standard)\n\nApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
