Sushi Chef / Commis Chef - Dynamic Team

The Flying Squirrel is a modern casual dining restaurant that serves modern Japanese tapas-style dishes.

We are now looking for the right candidate for the position of Sushi Chef to grow with us:

Responsibilities and Duties

• Create a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish
• Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri, and sashimi
• Select fresh fruits and vegetables to make high-quality dishes
• Manage all food preparation activities
• communicate with the service team to ensure proper cooking, special requests, and food allergies
• Monitor food stock and place orders as needed
• Recommend new and modern recipes
• Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean workstation end of each shift
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Management

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 2 years work experience as a Sushi Chef (Commis chef min 1 year experience)
• Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
• Ability to work both fast and accurately
• Must possess a passion for customers
• Team player with good initiative
• Basic Food Hygiene and Basic Health and Safety certificates
• Certification from a culinary school is an advantage

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $2,000.00 - $2,800.00 per month

(Salary will be commensurate based on experience)
