Job Description - SVP/ED, Team Lead, SG Payments, Receivables & Information Services, Global Transaction Services, Ins

Job Purpose
The SG Payments, Receivables & Information Services Lead will be a key team lead in the Singapore Cash team responsible to drive GTS Singapore Cash fee and products management including a comprehensive suite of products and solutions for Large and Mid-Cap, SMEs, and financial institutions. This role will primarily focus on Payments, Collections, Platform Services, Paper & Pricing related products, and associated platforms & solutions. The candidate will drive product strategy, industry representation, development, and commercialization to ensure profitability, competitiveness, and innovative solutions.

Key Accountabilities 

As a Product Team Lead in Singapore GTS Cash, you will be instrumental in driving the strategic development, commercialization, and performance of our payment, collections, and information services in Singapore. You will lead a team of product managers, driving innovation and ensuring DBS product leadership is at forefront of the Singapore market.

1. Product Strategy & Management

  • Strategic Product Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert, developing and executing robust product strategies for the payment, collections, and information services landscape in Singapore. Provide thought leadership and strategic vision for product management and the commercialization pipeline within GTS Cash Singapore. Experience in product management across multiple client segments – Financial Institutions, Large Corporates, Mid-Cap and SME preferred.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Oversee the product portfolio, including payment, collections, and information services.
  • Financial Performance & Profitability: Formulate and implement effective pricing strategies and commercialization plans to ensure sustained profitability while maintaining a competitive market position.
  • Innovation & Growth: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive product innovation, revenue growth, and increased transaction volumes. Prioritize and leverage digital innovations and disruptions within the payments and collections landscape to develop and launch cutting-edge banking solutions.
  • End-to-End Product Development: Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, from ideation and defining user requirements to developing business cases and collaborating seamlessly with technology and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of customer journeys and solutions.
  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct regular and in-depth analyses of the competitive landscape, including pricing, services, and features, to optimize the market positioning of our product offerings.
  • Risk & Compliance: Ensure that robust processes and controls are meticulously established and maintained for effective risk mitigation and full compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Corporate Client Solutions: Provide expert guidance and thought leadership on regional capabilities and sophisticated client solution structuring for key mandates. Experience in solution design across multiple client segments – Financial Institutions, Large Corporates, Mid-Cap and SME preferred

2. Team Leadership & Development

  • Team Management: Oversee a team of product managers, guiding them in product development, commercialization, and P&L management of relevant products.
  • Effective Product Development: Foster effective product development for relevant products, encompassing conceptualizing and bringing new solutions to market.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Internal Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including Sales, Relationship Managers (RMs), Implementation, Technology, Operations, Legal, and Compliance teams, to ensure seamless product development and delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and sustain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Industry Representation: Actively participate in, organize, or host relevant internal and external payment forums, engaging with regulators and industry leaders.
  • Executive Communication: Ability to present and represent the payment & collections function effectively to senior leadership as needed.
  • External Engagement: Actively engage with external stakeholders, leading customer and partnership interactions, conducting technical workshops, delivering training, and participating in other industry-related activities.
  • Sales & Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to develop compelling segment specific customer value propositions, pitch books, marketing materials, and comprehensive training resources.

4. Project & Delivery Management

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with technology, operations, and delivery teams to ensure deliverables are properly defined with appropriate acceptance criteria and that final accepted products are competitive in the market.
  • Clarity of Requirements: Ensure that the "what" is needed and the "why" based on business needs are clearly articulated, enabling delivery teams to effectively determine "how" to deliver.
  • Scope & Schedule Management: Manage trade-offs between scope and schedule in alignment with business demands, ensuring business value is delivered in concert with stakeholders such as platform sponsors, program management, and supporting or risk functions.

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 15 years of working experience with hands-on experience in corporate cash management with keen understanding of corporate needs and solution requirement for transaction banking
  • Extensive experience in payments, collections, information services product management
  • Expertise on Singapore domestic real-time payments & collections, cross border payment and established relationship with industry partners
  • Project management and leadership qualities to manage resources and projects across multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • An independent individual with attention to detail and strong analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated experience delivering results in an ambiguous and changing environment, the ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to function effectively under pressure in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands and crisis management, and possess creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement, quality methodology and product delivery skills
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative, analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills across; ability to communicate complex product concepts to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in clear concise language
  • Strong customer management and negotiation skills and the ability to mediate opposing viewpoints and articulate the advantages of standards
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate, openly communicate, present and negotiate effectively across disciplines, vendors, partners, and customers
