The Strategic Business Planning Specialist plays a crucial role in optimizing the balance sheet impact of the Bank's deposit and mortgage product portfolio, and managing the products alignment to strategic segment propositions. This position is responsible for analyzing product performance, market share, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and manage risk, and providing data-driven insights to support product development and pricing strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of balance sheet products, financial modeling, and data analysis techniques.
Responsibilities:
Lead coordination across Deposit and Secured Lending (DSL product teams to ensure offerings align with and support various CBG SG strategic segment propositions.
Analyze product performance trends and identify opportunities for optimization, including pricing adjustments, product features, and marketing campaigns.
Evaluate the balance sheet and P&L impact of new product initiatives and provide recommendations on pricing, structure, and risk management.
Develop and implement strategies to manage interest rate risk associated with the deposit and mortgage portfolio.
Develop and maintain financial models to support product analysis and decision-making.
Develop and maintain comprehensive forecasts and projections for balances, market share, interest margins, and other key performance indicators.
Conduct in-depth analysis of market competition and customer behavior to inform product strategy.
Prepare presentations and reports for senior management, summarizing key findings and recommendations.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Corporate Treasury, Martech, Franchises, Finance, Tech, Ops etc) to ensure alignment on product strategy.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes related to deposit and mortgage products.
Requirements:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent financial modeling and forecasting skills.
Deep understanding of deposit and mortgage products and their associated risks and opportunities.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python/R).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
