Job Description - Teacher Aide (WeCAN Early Intervention Programme)

Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) or ARC(S) is a non-profit charity organisation dedicated to serving individuals on the autism spectrum throughout their lives. Based in Singapore, ARC(S) offers a range of services and resources tailored to meet the growing concerns and needs of the autism community including our WeCAN Early Intervention Programme (EIP).

The team at WeCAN EIP provides quality early intervention for young children on the autism spectrum under 7 years and equips their caregivers with the skills that will help them reach their full potential.

As a Teacher Aide (WeCAN EIP), your impact and contribution includes:

  • Supporting our EIP teachers in preparing materials and resources needed for learning experiences in the classroom
  • Supporting our EIP teachers in preparing classroom for sessions and clearing up after sessions
  • Supporting our EIP teachers in implementation of lesson plan, classroom management and carrying out classroom routines
  • Providing support to students to ensure smooth class transitions
  • Ensuring a safe and stimulating educational environment for the well-being and safety of the children
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for the development of outings and other outreach activities.
  • Min. GCE 'O’Level/NITEC
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Desire to learn about autism and the patience to teach special needs students
  • Passion to help special needs students maximise their talents and potential
