Team Lead, Settlements (VP)

A leading European wholesale bank, is seeking an experienced Team Lead, Settlements (VP) to join its Operations team in Singapore.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role will lead a lean settlements team and oversee the smooth processing of treasury transactions across a range of products including Foreign Exchange, Money Market, Securities and Derivatives. The successful candidate will also act as the subject matter expert for regulatory trade reporting, including derivatives reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced settlements professional looking to take on a leadership role with strong regional exposure in a dynamic banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the Settlements team within the Operations Department.
2. Provide guidance, supervision and mentorship to team members.
3. Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, settlement breaks and exceptions.
4. Oversee end-to-end settlements processing across treasury products, including: Foreign Exchange (FX), Money Market transactions, Securities, Treasury Bills and Derivatives such as Interest Rate Swaps and Cross Currency Swaps
5. Act as subject matter expert for regulatory trade reporting, including DTCC derivatives reporting.
6. Act as the key contact point for settlements matters across internal stakeholders and regional branches.
7. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and controls.
8. Support system enhancements, operational projects and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) initiatives.

Key Requirements

1. Minimum 10 years of banking operations experience, with strong exposure to settlements or treasury operations.
2. Prior team leadership or supervisory experience.
3. Strong understanding of treasury settlement workflows and operational controls.
4. Experience with regulatory trade reporting, particularly DTCC derivatives reporting.
5. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
6. Ability to operate effectively within a lean operations environment.
7. Strong problem-solving ability and operational risk awareness.
