Job Description As a Technical Assistant, this role will provide specialist administrative and technical support to underwriting teams for specific class or classes of business. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of underwriting files, data quality, compliance checks, alongside broker and internal stakeholder liaison, ensuring the smooth running of the underwriting process.
This role offers potential career progression into Canopius' Underwriting or Operational functions depending on individual development.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities - Submission logging on behalf of all lines of business, including file creation.
- Supporting Canopius Shared Services, India with risk data entry into our policy administration system, assisting with procedural requirements, system support, technical knowledge and query management.
- Undertaking risk, endorsement and declaration data entry as required, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Taking responsibility for quality control, audit and query resolution on data entry work conducted by Canopius Shared Services, India.
- Producing and providing regular and ad-hoc data and reporting to Underwriting teams and Management, including commentary as required
- Engaging regularly with Technical Assistants and Underwriting teams to ensure efficient file and query management.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Underwriting teams through communication and quality of service.
- Contributing to the maintenance of procedures, ensuring they remain current for all teams across Underwriting Operations through regular review, update and creation as necessary.
- Providing 'technical' support for underwriters and other colleagues across the business, as required.
- Assisting in the monitoring and completion of exception reports, completing follow up actions as required, within service level agreements.
- Working to ensure Key Performance Indicators are met on a monthly basis, through quality, timeliness and service. Proactively providing feedback and resolution to management when they cannot or have not been achieved.
- Supporting other members of the team, covering tasks and responsibilities as required, for example, during absence.
- Actively contributing to change and transformation initiatives, acting as an SME and assisting IT, Change or other departments as required.
- Actively contributing to continuous improvement, providing recommendations and supporting colleagues with improvement activities.
- Maintaining excellent communication with team members, the wider management team and internal as well as external stakeholders.
- Assisting where necessary in the oversight and monitoring of the handling and agreement of premium messages from Xchanging, assisting with and processing any complex cases as required.
- Assisting where necessary in regulatory and market reporting or monitoring.
- Undertaking ad hoc tasks in relation to the Underwriting Operations function, as directed by the management team.

- Willing to work towards Singapore College of insurance exams.

- Proficient in Microsoft Applications such as Excel and Outlook.
