Technical Lead - Payment

As a Technical Lead, you will drive the design, development, and delivery of secure payment solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with people leadership, supporting Agile delivery while mentoring engineers and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will play a key role in owning sprint execution, guiding architecture decisions, and collaborating with global stakeholders, including teams operating across different time zones.

Responsibilities:

·        Technical Leadership:

Ø  Lead the design and development of secure payment applications and systems aligned with standards

Ø  Provide hands-on technical guidance across the full SDLC

Ø  Ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure code practices

Ø  Review architecture and design decisions, ensuring alignment with payment industry standards (e.g., EMV, Visa, Mastercard)

·        Agile Delivery and Sprint Ownership:

Ø  Own and drive sprint planning and execution, ensuring delivery meets business line needs

Ø  Collaborate closely with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness

Ø  Monitor sprint progress, mitigate risks, and ensure predictable delivery outcomes

·        Stakeholder Collaboration:

Ø  Conduct regular meetings with PED, PEM, and PM stakeholders (weekly cadence)

Ø  Collaborate across global teams, including working with European stakeholders (French time zone interactions required)

Ø  Communicate effectively on delivery status, risks, and technical decisions

·        People Leadership and Mentorship:

Ø  Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices

Ø  Balance hands-on technical contributions with leadership responsibilities

Ø  Promote a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.

·        Technical Expertise and Innovation:

Ø  Contribute to the development of secure digital payment and identity solutions

Provide expertise in areas such as:

Ø  Smart card/ smart chip technologies

Ø  RFID / NFC systems

Ø  Biometric passport and identity solutions (good to have)

Ø  For Payment Business Line (PAY):

Ø  Apply knowledge of credit card technologies (EMV standards, Visa, Mastercard frameworks)

Must Have Job Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

·        7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in a technical leadership role

·        Knowledge of RFID / NFC technologies

·        Experience with smart card / smart chip systems

·        Exposure to biometric identity solutions (e.g., e-passports)

·        Domain expertise in payment card technologies (EMV, Visa, Mastercard, etc.) (particularly for PAY Business Line)

·        Strong experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments

·        Proven experience delivering secure, high-availability systems

·        Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

·        Strong time management skills, with the ability to balance technical delivery and team leadership

·        Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities

·        Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar Agile tools

·        Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering practices
