Role Overview

Surbana Jurong's Group IT is looking for an experienced Power BI Technical Specialist to own the enterprise BI platform across the organisation. This is a hands-on technical role where you will be the internal authority on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric architecture, responsible for governance, delivery standards, and enabling analytics across multiple business units.

This role sits within the Data Insights function in Group IT and operates at the intersection of data/analytics engineering, semantic modelling, tenant administration and stakeholder engagement. You will not just develop reports, you will shape how the organisation thinks about and delivers data.

Role Responsibilities

Platform Governance & Administration

• Own enterprise-wide Power BI and Microsoft Fabric governance, covering tenant configuration, workspace strategy, capacity planning, and gateway management

• Serve as Power BI Service Administrator, enforcing access controls, data policies, and compliance standards across the reporting estate

• Define and maintain architectural standards for semantic modelling, report design, and BI delivery across teams

Analytics Engineering, Data Modelling & Reporting

• Develop data pipeline to curate enterprise-grade semantic models

• Design and deliver enterprise-grade semantic models that support scalable, self-service reporting across key business domains

• Implement row-level security (static/dynamic) using role-based access controls to govern sensitive data access at scale

• Implement DAX performance tuning, query optimisation, and tabular modelling best practices across the BI estate

• Deliver analytics reporting across domains such as Management, Operations, Finance, CRM etc.

DevOps & Delivery

• Deliver analytics reporting across domains such as Management, Operations, Finance, CRM etc.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner closely with business units, data owners, and functional leaders to understand reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring alignment with enterprise data and governance standards.

• Communicate technical concepts in a clear and structured manner to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring alignment across functions.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Python/Pyspark and SQL

• At least 4+ years of hands-on Power BI experience, including semantic modelling, DAX, and Power Query M

• Proven experience as a Power BI/Fabric Service Administrator managing tenant-level governance in an enterprise environment

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Fabric

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for BI using Azure DevOps

• Solid understanding of dimensional modelling, star schema design, and tabular model optimisation

• Hands-on experience implementing security access at scale

• Proficiency in DAX Studio and Tabular Editor

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or equivalent demonstrated expertise

• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) or equivalent
