Technical Superintendent - Singapore

Comaea Consulting is looking to hire Technical Superintendents for a new opportunity with a MNC in the shipping industry.

Technical Superintendent – Bulk Carriers / Tankers / Dual Fuel / LNG Gas

Based in Hong Kong/Singapore/India

ORGANIZATION: 

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will be in-charge of managing the technical and operational performance of 4-6 merchant vessels. Your key role is to ensure safe and efficient operations of the company’s vessels, their routine and preventive maintenance, and that all international marine requirements are complied with.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and supervise technical aspects of vessel operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure vessels' technical readiness and reliability.
  
• Collaborate with various departments to optimize vessel performance, budget management, and resource allocation.
  
• Oversee dry-docking, repairs, and maintenance schedules, ensuring cost-effective and timely completion.
  
• Develop and implement technical guidelines, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  
• Coordinate and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  
• Provide technical support and guidance to onboard crews and shore-based personnel.
  

Requirements

• You must be a qualified Marine Engineer, or equivalent diploma holder in marine/navigation.
  
• Fresh Chief Engineers seeking to transition from ship to shore are welcome to apply.
  
• A minimum of 12 months of sailing experience as a Chief Engineer on Bulk carriers/ Tankers/ LNG vessels is mandatory.
  
• Prior experience of 1–2 years as a Technical Superintendent will be an added advantage.
  
• Experience working onshore in the marine industry or with dry docking will be advantageous.
  
• Business acumen with capability to manage the budgetary responsibilities for multiple vessels.
  
• People are oriented and passionate about developing shipboard teams.
  
• Able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  
• You have solid technical skills and enjoy solving challenging situations.
  
• Well updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation.
