Trade Reporting Analyst

What you'll do:

As a Trade Reporting Analyst, you will be instrumental in shaping the organisation's approach to regulatory reporting by analysing requirements, documenting processes, and facilitating communication between key stakeholders. Your day-to-day activities will involve reviewing business needs for trade repository reporting, identifying workflow improvements, assessing system changes prompted by new regulations, and ensuring accurate representation of products throughout their lifecycle. You will perform rigorous quality checks on reports while collaborating with various internal teams-including Operations, Technology, Compliance-and external parties such as market intermediaries. By coordinating efforts across departments and engaging with trade repositories like CCIL, you will help standardise practices and harmonise reporting solutions. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver precise documentation, foster effective stakeholder collaboration, and maintain high standards of data integrity.

• Review and challenge business requirements for trade repository reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Analyse current workflows within upstream applications and identify areas for improvement based on evolving regulatory guidelines.
• Assess system enhancements as new requirements arise from global regulations, ensuring seamless integration into existing processes.
• Examine data flows between upstream systems, reporting suites, and trade repositories to guarantee reliable information transfer.
• Document business rules and validation requirements thoroughly within change requests to maintain transparency and traceability.
• Ensure products in scope and their lifecycle events are accurately represented in all relevant documentation and reporting systems.
• Perform comprehensive quality checks on trade repository reports to uphold data integrity and regulatory adherence.
• Review new product launches in detail to assess applicability for trade repository reporting (TR) and preparedness, including user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Technology, Compliance, Front Office technology teams, Middle Office teams, and desks to understand product nuances.
• Coordinate with market intermediaries and trade repositories such as CCIL for rules interpretation and clarifications regarding reporting obligations.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Trade Reporting Analyst will enable you to excel in this role by leveraging your background in OTC derivatives products and hands-on involvement with global trade reporting regulations. You bring strong analytical skills honed through MI/MIS Reporting responsibilities alongside an adeptness at navigating complex financial markets infrastructure. Your familiarity with platforms like DTCC ensures you can manage intricate data flows efficiently while your advanced capabilities in Alteryx, Power BI, Excel, JIRA, and XML equip you to handle both technical challenges and process documentation seamlessly.

• Minimum three years' experience dealing with OTC derivatives products within financial services or banking environments.
• Proven track record working with existing trade reporting regulations such as MAS or ASIC, demonstrating deep understanding of compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience in MI/MIS Reporting functions supporting regulatory projects or OTC-related initiatives.
• Comprehensive knowledge of trade lifecycle events relevant to derivatives products.
• Familiarity with trade repository platforms such as DTCC or similar systems used for regulatory submissions.
• Solid understanding of financial markets infrastructure underpinning global trading operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Alteryx for data analysis and Power BI for visualisation of complex datasets.
• Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite-particularly Excel-for managing large volumes of transactional data.
• Experience using JIRA or similar tracking tools for requirements management and workflow exception handling.
• Working knowledge of XML or other reporting languages commonly used in regulatory submissions.
