Job Description - Trade Support Specialist

Our Client is a global leading market maker and is seeking an experienced person to support its electronic order routing systems. The Electronic Trading Support Specialist will help support customers globally to resolve electronic trading production issues and implement onboarding of new clients to the production trading systems. This individual will be responsible for monitoring, identifying, and troubleshooting electronic trading and connectivity issues across a suite of products with urgency. This individual will work closely with the onboarding specialists to implement new connections and help manage existing client changes across multi-asset suite of products. FIX, UNIX, SQL and Windows knowledge is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide dedicated phone, chat, and email support to both internal and external customers by answering complex questions on function and usage of all aspects of electronic trading.
  2. Provide real-time monitoring of trading systems, EOD/SOD, and health checks.
  3. Resolve technical support issues and problems in the areas of system configurations, functionally and enhancements surrounding trading products/systems.
  4. Provide a high level of customer support and service to both Virtu's internal trading desks as well as external clients/customers.
  5. Frequently dealing with trading issues surrounding the FIX Protocol.
  6. Be part of a dedicated global support team, identifying, replicating, and prioritising client trading issues.
  7. Coordinate with other team to categorise, prioritise, and resolve software application issues dealing with all levels of electronic trading.
  8. Interact regularly with members of the development team, sales, and product management to produce and refine software solutions that address operational needs and requirements.
  9. Serve as primary liaison between customers and the firm.
  10. Assist with client on-boarding tasks as well as sales support requests.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS:

  1. 2-4 years working experience in support of the finance industry, preferably equities.
  2. Proven technical and analytical skills in a mix of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL, Sybase SQL, and UNIX environments.
  3. Previous experiences with support of trading systems and/or FIX order routing desirable.
  4. Demonstrated excellent organisational, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritise, and adapt quickly with minimal supervision and a strong sense of urgency.
  6. Understanding of the Financial Information Exchange (FIX) Protocol and Python.
  7. Understanding of financial markets, trading, and/or asset management industry.
