Trainee Broker

Job Description & Requirements

• Work closely with and provide support to the Light-ends, and Crude teams.
• Be in-charge of trades’ operations which includes:

1. Registration of trades done with clients via deal tickets writing and deals entry into clearing platform
2. Sending contracts via internal automated system
3. Conduct daily deal checks, check auto generated reports, and create new reports.
4. Address internal and external queries.
5. Client servicing: providing trade support to all clients whenever needed.

• Attain strong understanding of all the desks’ clients in terms of their profile.
• Start with providing effective client coverage on all broker’s clients if/when brokers are off the desk and gradually broking on a more regular basis.
• Master how to mark curves and know where market is daily.
• Mark daily reports out to client’s basis the market curve
• Actively contribute to desks’ Public Relations affairs
• Organise client meetings and provide support during events planned by the company.

Applicant pre-requisites:

• Undergraduate in Finance / accounting / Economics / Business / International Trade
• Self-motivated and driven to work in an extremely high energy and volatile environment.
• Need to be Diligent, reliable with attention-to-detail even under stress situations (think trading markets)
• Looking for candidates with strong social skills and a sharp mind
• Ability to start immediately.

Learning Elements:

• To develop an understanding of the Oil Market and relevant products in particular
• To pick up on the nuances of the world of broking
