Job Description – Trainee Ship Broker (Panamax)

• Provide day-to-day support to Brokers across all desk activities.
• Maintain databases, prepare market information, and produce client reports.
• Manage the internal flow of key market intelligence.
• Continuously develop knowledge of the Panamax market.
• Produce internal and external reports, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including emails, contracts, and correspondence.
• Handle queries and help build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and partners.
• Carry out additional duties and ad hoc projects as required.
• Attend client meetings and industry events.

Job/Skill Requirements

• Maritime studies-related fresh graduate studentswith a keen interest in the shipbroking industry are welcome to apply.
• The ideal candidate would hold a shipping degree, commercial degree, or similar commercial qualification.
  
•  Studies and knowledge in maritime insurance will be greatly beneficial.
  
•  A good understanding of accounting and numeracyskills is essential to this job.
  
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills required.
  
• Candidate needs to be a team player, able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Looking for a junior broker who can communicate with our chinese clients who are mandarin speaking. Proficiency in Mandarin, both written and spoken is therefore a must.
  
• Having an entrepreneurial nature will be highly desirable along with a strong personal drive to succeed.
