Translator (English to Malay)

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Malay Localization Specialist/translator to join the StarMaker team. In this role, you will be responsible for localizing in-app content into Malay and ensuring a natural, high-quality user experience for Malay-speaking users. You will also support a small portion of regional operations to help improve user engagement and localization quality.

Responsibilities

• Translate and localize in-app UI, marketing copy, event content, notifications, and other product materials into Malay.
• Review and proofread Malay translations to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance.
• Maintain and improve the Malay localization glossary and style guide.
• Support regional operations, including reviewing localized campaign content, assisting with community initiatives, and providing language support for local events.

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Malay, with excellent written communication skills.
• Good command of English; Chinese proficiency is a plus.
• Experience in translation, localization, content writing, or a related field.
• Familiarity with mobile apps, social media, or the online entertainment industry is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAT tools or localization management platforms.
• Passion for music, karaoke, live streaming, or online communities.
• Previous experience supporting regional marketing or operations is a plus.
