Job Description - Translator, Project Documentation - Japanese-English (Contract)

Responsibilities:

Translate project-related documents, reports, manuals, technical specifications, and correspondence from Japanese to English (and vice versa when required).
Ensure translation accuracy, consistency, and preservation of original meaning and tone.

Serve as a communication bridge between Japanese-speaking stakeholders and English-speaking project teams.
Liaise with internal teams to clarify language or context-related issues in documentation.

Review and edit translated documents for grammatical accuracy, formatting consistency, and alignment with project standards.
Maintain a glossary of project-specific terminology for consistent usage across all translated materials.

Assist in preparing bilingual presentations, progress reports, and other project deliverables.
Support project managers in coordinating communication timelines related to translated materials.

Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and in accordance with company policies and data privacy regulations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in any field.
Min 3 years of relevant translator working experience.
Experience translating between Japanese and English in a system implementation project.
Experience in reviewing and correcting translated documents in both Japanese and English.
Experience in system implementation projects as a PMO or in an administrative role.
Available to commence work by June 2025.
Proficiency in both Japanese and English to perform translations.
Experience in SAP implementation projects as a translator, with familiarity in SAP-specific terminology, manufacturing industry knowledge, and a solid understanding of project environments and team collaboration is a plus.
