about the job

This position centers on executing technical underwriting and managing portfolio administration for commercial lines business driven by international brokerage channels. You will analyze complex risk profiles and provide advisory support to ensure that insurance structures align with the specific portfolio needs of international corporate clients.

• Portfolio Underwriting: Reviewing and assessing commercial risks sourced from international brokerage networks to determine competitive pricing, structures, and terms within the established corporate risk appetite.

• Broker Engagement: Managing daily operational workflows and account servicing for global brokers to facilitate efficient new business acquisitions and policy renewals.

• Contract Verification: Evaluating policy wordings, endorsements, and contractual terms to maintain alignment with internal underwriting guidelines and external compliance standards.

• Technical Consultation: Providing technical guidance and product clarification to broker partners regarding coverage parameters, specific exclusions, and risk evaluations.

• Market Analysis: Tracking industry trends and competitive landscape developments within the international broker segment to support the refinement of commercial insurance products.

You will be integrated into the Commercial Distribution Division, operating within a structured and technical environment that values precision and cross-functional collaboration. The role reports to the Head of Department, working alongside senior underwriters to ensure portfolio strategies correspond with overall corporate growth objectives.

skills and experience required

The following qualifications and professional criteria are required for this role.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field of study.

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience within the general insurance sector, focusing on commercial lines.

• Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the Singapore general insurance market and the international broker ecosystem.

• Communication: Professional communication skills for managing corporate relationships.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and industry-specific insurance software.

• Certifications: Professional insurance qualifications including BCP, PGI, or ComGI.
