Underwriter - SME Solutions

A well-established insurer is seeking an Underwriter to join its growing corporate insurance team. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing underwriting responsibilities with client servicing while working across a broad portfolio of insurance products.

In this role, you will work closely with brokers and corporate clients, manage renewals, assess new business opportunities, and contribute to the continued growth of the commercial portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of SME and commercial package insurance business, assessing new and renewal risks within delegated underwriting authority.
• Evaluate risk exposures, determine appropriate pricing and coverage, and prepare competitive quotations while maintaining underwriting profitability.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, intermediaries and corporate clients, delivering timely technical advice and exceptional service.
• Manage the end-to-end renewal process, identifying retention opportunities and supporting portfolio growth initiatives.
• Prepare and issue quotations, policies, endorsements, certificates and related insurance documentation in accordance with service standards.
• Monitor premium collections and support credit control activities to ensure compliance with company guidelines.
• Analyse portfolio performance and prepare underwriting reports to support business planning and decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient policy administration and seamless customer experience.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to the achievement of departmental growth and profitability objectives.

Requirements

• Actual underwriting experience in Singapore
• Possess required insurance certifications for regulatory purposes
