Valuation Assistant Manager (RBC2)

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated actuarial professional to join our client's Actuarial team. This role is responsible for supporting the company's Risk-Based Capital 2 (RBC2) reporting and participating bonus investigations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while providing insights into capital management and policyholder bonus recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review RBC2 regulatory capital calculations and statutory reporting.
• Support quarterly and annual capital reporting submissions to regulators.
• Perform capital impact analysis and investigate movements in solvency ratios.
• Conduct participating fund bonus investigations, including experience analysis and bonus recommendation support.
• Analyse investment, mortality, morbidity, lapse and expense experience to support bonus declarations.
• Work closely with Finance, Investments, Risk Management and Product teams on capital and participating fund matters.
• Support actuarial modelling, assumption reviews and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure documentation, governance and reporting processes meet internal and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Progress towards actuarial qualification.
• 2–5 years of actuarial experience within the life insurance industry.
• Experience in RBC2 reporting, capital management or participating fund valuations is preferred.
• Familiarity with Prophet, AXIS, MG-ALFA or similar actuarial modelling systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel; experience with VBA, SQL or Python is an advantage.
