Job Description - Vice President - JP Sales, GTBD - SMBC

Job Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the growth of SMBC's Transaction Banking business through the promotion of cash management solutions to Japanese corporate clients in APAC region.
  • Build and maintain relationship with Japanese corporate clients and anticipate their requirements through consultative selling to increase SMBC's wallet share.
  • Make periodical visits to assigned countries, visits clients, lead TB dialogues, and present solutions.
  • Interact with HQ in Japan and branches (RM and in-country sales), analyze TB opportunities, and strategize sales activities in collaboration.
  • Prepare presentation materials and proposals in both Japanese & English translation.
  • Internally coordinate with Product Development/Management for sharing client requirements/feedback and solutioning .
  • Submit reports (monthly reports, business trip reports, call reports, etc.)
  • Understand market trends / customer requirements and contribute to the bank's product development / improvements.
Job Requirements
  • Strong working experience in customer banking operations,systems and back-end operations
  • Able to collaborate effectively with large corporate customers, and internal IT/Operational departments
  • At least 10 years' of working experience in Banking is essential
  • Strong customer centric mindset
  • Analytical and creative in problem solving
  • Proficiency in Japanese, together with strong written and verbal communication skills in English, is required for effective engagement with Japanese corporate clients and for the competent handling of Japanese-language reports and financial statements.
  • Ability to lead the project team in achieving the desired outcome
  • Ability to spearhead projects/initiatives while working with various internal stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive, team player, good inter-personal skills, etc.
