Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the human resources function across Allied World's Asia Pacific region. This job involves directing the development and execution of human resource strategies and services to support and enable delivery of the business strategy. The role will be based in Allied World's Singapore office, will directly lead a team of six HR personnel, and will partner, consult, and advise senior business colleagues in the region to ensure the necessary human resources capacity, capabilities and services are in place.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Developing and delivering the HR strategy for Asia Pacific across seven offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, and Dubai.
• Leading the development of the Asia Pacific HR organisation, capabilities, processes and services to meet business needs and encourage best practices.
• Collaborating with other members of the global HR leadership team.
• Ensuring that the Company has the necessary breadth and depth of leadership and other key talents, at all levels, through the continued attraction, engagement, retention, development and deployment of high calibre people.
• Developing and driving the delivery of the HR strategy and employee value proposition in line with business strategy in the Asia Pacific region.
• Managing a staff of six HR personnel in Singapore and Hong Kong.
• Developing and maintaining an effective control framework to identify, minimise and/or manage people related risks, including complying with legal and/or regulatory requirements.
• Advising the management team on senior succession and appointments to ensure the continued availability of the talent needed to meet the future needs of the business.
• Overseeing regional HR operations which include Payroll, Benefits, Compensation and other operational HR processes.
• Preparing and managing the annual HR budget for the region.
• Identifying, evaluating, and deploying enhancements that drive operations efficiencies.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Degree holder; postgraduate.
• 10+ years of progressive HR responsibilities, including HR leadership and management.
• International/multi-national business experience.
• Successful track record of leveraging business growth and change through effective people strategies.
• Ability to engage and inspire others across organizational and cultural boundaries.
• Regular travel across the region, and annual travel to the US and other jurisdictions.
