VP - Business Management

Working for an established financial institution, this role leads the planning and provides structure, oversight, and financial stewardship so the function operates effectively and in line with strategic priorities. It partners with senior leaders and key stakeholders to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and high‑quality execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and run the planning cadence (annual plans, quarterly reviews, monthly performance) aligned to the function’s strategy.
• Coordinate cross‑functional inputs and produce executive‑ready materials that communicate progress, risks, and decisions required.
• Financial Management & Stewardship
• Manage cost recovery, spending discipline, and portfolio affordability.
• Lead budgetting and provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations
• Workforce management
• Oversee resource planning, org structure alignment, and hiring requests/approvals.
• Maintain accurate people data to support capacity planning and utilisation reporting.
• Governance,Frameworks & Leadership Engagement
• Build budget‑planning frameworks that standardise forecasts and enable robust walkthroughs with senior leaders.
• Facilitate governance routines and ensure timely, high‑quality submissions.
• Policy, Risk & Control
• Strengthen process discipline and controls to reduce operational risk and improve audit readiness.

Requirements

• • Bachelor’s degree; experience in large organisations (financial services preferred).
  • Min 10 years of expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Resource planning and hiring governance experience.
  • Track record in planning frameworks, governance routines, and senior‑leader engagement.
  • Strong risk/control orientation and policy adherence.
  • Advanced Excel (modelling/analysis) and strong PowerPoint (exectives presentations).
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; combines strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
