Position Overview
The Vice President of Sales â APAC will be responsible for leading the sales operations across the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, China, Japan, Korea, and Australia. Reporting directly to the Head of BU based in Europe, the VP Sales will manage a team of regional sales leaders and drive strategic growth initiatives to expand the companyâs footprint in the companyâs related industrial sectors. This role requires a dynamic, results-oriented leader with proven experience in managing complex sales teams and achieving measurable business outcomes in a technical, B2B2B environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Sales Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of 8 direct reports across multiple APAC countries, ensuring alignment with global sales strategies.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture, setting clear objectives and KPIs (revenue, margin, client satisfaction) to drive accountability and results.
- Oversee recruitment and talent development within the sales team, ensuring that key positions are filled with top-tier talent.
- Implement effective performance management processes to ensure team members meet their targets and contribute to the overall success in APAC.
2. Sales Strategy Development & Execution
- Define and implement the APAC sales strategy, in collaboration with global leadership, to expand the companyâs market share.
- Develop tactical plans to penetrate high-value accounts, including semiconductor, aerospace, and industrial clients, by leveraging the companyâs unique technological capabilities.
- Analyze market trends and adjust sales strategies to stay ahead of competitors and capitalize on new opportunities.
3. Client Relationship Management & Business Development
- Build and strengthen relationships with key strategic clients, channel partners, and distributors across APAC.
- Drive sales growth through new business acquisition and the development of long-term relationships with key accounts.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events, enhancing visibility in the APAC region.
4. Financial & Operational Oversight
- Manage the APAC sales P&L, ensuring alignment with the companyâs financial targets and business goals.
- Regularly forecast revenue and margins, adjusting sales strategies to meet quarterly and annual targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, marketing, product) to ensure operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
5. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor the competitive landscape in APAC, identifying new trends, emerging markets, and potential threats.
- Use market insights to adapt sales approaches and ensure the company remains competitive in high-tech markets.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelorâs degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in B2B sales in the electronics, semiconductor, defense or related sectors.
- Proven success in managing regional sales teams across APAC.
Leadership & Management Skills
- Strong experience in sales leadership, including managing large teams across multiple countries and cultures.
- Proven ability to motivate sales teams and achieve aggressive sales targets.
- Exceptional skills in people management, with an emphasis on coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
Commercial Acumen
- A strategic mindset with the ability to implement tactical sales plans that drive growth and profitability.
- Excellent understanding of APAC markets, with a focus on defense and civilian sectors (e.g., industrial automation, aerospace, semiconductor).
- Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles and developing long-term business relationships with key accounts.
Cultural Fit & Regional Knowledge
- Strong familiarity with the APAC region, especially Singapore, China, Japan, Korea, and Australia.
