Job Description - VP/AVP - RM, Energy, Renewable and Infrastructure (North Asia market), Institutional Banking Group

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Account Management & Growth:
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for existing ERI clients in collaboration with product partners.
  • Revenue and Profitability Enhancement: Grow portfolio earnings and enhance Return on Equity (ROE) through the cross-selling of various banking products and solutions, including: Cash Management, Trade Finance, Treasury & Markets, Investment Banking products (Strategic Advisory, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, etc.)
  • Client Acquisition: Identify and target New-To-Bank clients, collaborating with product and credit partners for successful onboarding and growth.
  • Client Engagement & Operational Handling: Ensure regular client engagement and actively manage existing portfolios, particularly for large accounts with significant day-to-day operational demands.
  • Credit Risk Management: Proactively monitor and manage accounts, identifying credit deterioration or improvement, and taking timely action, including escalation to senior management and Credit teams.
Strategic Initiatives & Investment Banking Support:
  • Assist ERI senior bankers in executing strategic initiatives and assist the origination of investment banking and advisory mandates through: Industry research, Marketing pitch preparation, Financial modelling, Financial and valuation analysis, Deep-dive reviews of strategic accounts
High quality pitch, credit analysis, documentation, execution:
  • Pitch Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality, accuracy, and relevance of high-quality pitches presented to clients.
  • Credit Analysis and evaluation: Prepare accurate and timely credit memos, supported by in-depth analysis, synthesized insights, and coherent recommendations.
  • Financial Model Evaluation: Evaluate financial models based on sound industry, business and market assumptions, demonstrating a high level of competence.
  • Documentation & Execution: Lead loan and security documentation and negotiation processes with a high degree of competence, independently handle execution and lead internal processes to ensure deal close with collaboration from product partners.
Regional Collaboration & Proactive Industry Engagement:
  • Proactive Industry Engagement and Cross-Geographical Partnership: Stay current with industry developments, identifying emerging opportunities, potential risks, and evolving deal structures. To collaborate with DBS geographies using industry insights to actively pursue new deal flows, to grow the DBS brand and regional industry wallet revenue.
  • Joint Client Initiatives: Jointly target new clients and drive joint account planning and growth for existing portfolios across regions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 8-10 years' relevant experience as a corporate or industry banker. Experience in the Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure sector or relevant experience is considered an added advantage.
  • Demonstrates a strong grasp of corporate and structured financing, hedging instruments and capital market solutions for large corporates, preferably in the ERI sector.
  • Articulate and confident in client pitches, presentations and negotiations.
  • Experience in leading and driving a regional business and connectivity across multiple geographies. Self-motivated individual with a proven track record in originating new business opportunities and driving cross-selling activities.
  • Well-developed credit analysis capabilities. Familiar with complex financial models.
  • As specific focus will be to cover the North Asia market, the candidate is expected to have established network of clients in this region.
  • Experience in Corporate Finance advisory and M&A or Sustainable Finance would be an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to engage senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly resourceful individual who should also be a team player.
