West/East Forklift Operator

Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently move and stack materials or products within the warehouse or storage area.
• Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets using the forklift, ensuring proper placement and secure positioning of items.
• Inspect and maintain the forklift, conducting routine checks for safety and functionality, and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
• Follow established safety protocols and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to speed limits, and maintaining clear visibility while operating the forklift.
• Assist in inventory management by accurately counting, labeling, and organizing materials or products in the warehouse.
• Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely fulfillment of orders.
• Comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to forklift operation and warehouse operations.
• Report any safety incidents, near misses, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors or relevant personnel.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse, including keeping aisles clear and properly storing equipment and materials.
• Follow instructions and work schedules provided by supervisors or management.

Requirements:

• Valid forklift operator certification or license.
• Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or similar setting.
• Knowledge of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
• Ability to operate a forklift with precision and accuracy, even in tight spaces.
• Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Effective communication skills to interact with coworkers and supervisors.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overtime, if required.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting a culture of safety.
