Workshop Supervisor

Job Summary

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring all repair, maintenance, fabrication, and installation works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The role includes supervising workers, coordinating schedules, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with company and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities and manpower to ensure smooth operations
• Plan, assign, and monitor work schedules to meet project deadlines efficiently
• Inspect completed work and equipment regularly to verify compliance with technical specifications and quality standards
• Enforce workplace safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment to support workshop needs
• Provide technical guidance and training to workshop personnel to enhance skills and performance
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work progress reports to track project status and productivity
• Troubleshoot operational issues promptly and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
• Liaise with project managers, clients, suppliers, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of workshop machinery and equipment to sustain operational efficiency
• Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance to optimize workforce management

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma, NITEC, or relevant technical qualification in Engineering, Mechanical, Construction, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of workshop or supervisory experience
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Good knowledge of workplace safety regulations and procedures
