Therapeutic Care Worker (Youth Mentor)

The Therapeutic Care Worker (Youth Mentor) provides trauma-informed care, guidance, and supervision to female adolescents who have experienced abuse or neglect. The role focuses on creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment that promotes healing, personal growth, and overall well-being while ensuring residents' physical, emotional, educational, social, and spiritual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, supervision, and support to residents, ensuring a safe and structured living environment.
• Assist residents in managing daily routines and addressing challenges encountered within the residential treatment centre.
• Safeguard the welfare, safety, and well-being of residents at all times.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor, promoting appropriate behaviour, personal development, and healthy relationships.
• Assess, de-escalate, and manage crises, behavioural concerns, and conflicts effectively.
• Implement and support individual therapeutic interventions in accordance with residents' care plans developed by the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Support residents' holistic development by addressing their physical, emotional, mental, educational, social, and spiritual needs.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to monitor residents' progress and contribute to their ongoing care and rehabilitation.
