The GP Communications Specialist supports internal communications for Global Procurement, helping ensure team members stay informed, aligned, and engaged. This entry‑level role supports the creation, coordination, and delivery of communications across key channels including email, SharePoint, and other digital platforms.
You will also be the point of contact for various internal stakeholders to provide communication strategies and planning in support of their program goals. You will work closely with program owners, functional leaders, and the GP Communications team to gather content, maintain communication channels, and support planning for GP programs and initiatives.
This role is well‑suited for someone who is organized, detail‑oriented, and interested in building a foundation in corporate and internal communications.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications and Editorial Management
Coordinate and publish the weekly GP News roundup, including content gathering, drafting, formatting, reviews, and distribution.
Work with program managers and functional leads to support content creation and editing of updates and other communications.
Maintain consistent tone, style, and editorial quality aligned to GP communication standards.
Keep the GP News SharePoint site updated, accurate, and easy to navigate.
Refresh pages, update resources, tag and archive content, and support ongoing improvements to site structure.
Monitor engagement metrics and surface insights or opportunities to improve usability.
Integrate the use of AI tools (Co-Pilot) to drive efficiency and innovation.
Program Communications Planning and Execution
Support communication planning and content development for GP programs (people initiatives, procurement systems, transformation workstreams, operational updates) within a structured model.
Assist in building communication plans including audience mapping, sequencing, and tactical execution.
Develop supporting materials such as talking points, one‑pagers, slide content, and stakeholder updates.
Integrate the use of AI tools (Co-Pilot) to drive efficiency and innovation.
Qualifications:
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to summarize information clearly and accurately.
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple inputs, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment with minimal oversight of day-to-day tasks.
Comfort working with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot)
Willingness to learn internal communication platforms, processes, and governance standards used across Global Procurement.
Preferred
Internship or early‑career experience in communications, content management, or related work.
Familiarity with internal communications in a corporate environment.
Experience editing or formatting content for digital channels (email, SharePoint, Teams).
Exposure to communication planning, change communications, or program support work.
Interest in business operations, procurement, or large global organizations.
Skills:
Clear, concise writing for internal audiences.
Editing and proofreading for clarity, tone, and consistency.
Strong quality‑control habits and attention to detail.
Ability to synthesize inputs from multiple contributors into cohesive communications.
Experience maintaining content calendars, trackers, or simple project plans.
Effective collaboration with program owners and cross‑functional partners.
Working knowledge of SharePoint‑based content management.
Familiarity with email communications and basic engagement metrics.
Comfort learning new tools and adapting as communication platforms evolve.
