Job Description - Head of Procurement – Marketing & Professional Services

This role offers the opportunity to lead functional and market Procurement Managers/Teams, translating strategy into clear, actionable plans. The position is responsible for driving both central and local procurement teams across all markets to develop and deliver Marketing and Professional Services procurement strategies for the Dairy Farm Group. As a dual role, it also leads the Southeast Asia team (Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam), partnering with suppliers and stakeholders to deliver optimal value for DFI Retail Group, while ensuring strong governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work in partnership with regional stakeholders, leverage the scale of business and our professional skills to deliver the blueprint and saving plans across each country
  • To translate business plans into action to optimize and drive sustainable growth for Group Procurement to create value for customers and our business; to manage a work plan with a timeframe of 12-18months.
  • Using the procurement sourcing processes to ensure business plans/category strategies create sustainable value for the customers and our business
  • To own and approve the category supplier list to deliver the capacity and capability to fit the business requirements
  • To develop and document effective financial risk-mitigation plans for any known risks
  • To work cohesively with other teams and functions to ensure a streamlined approach to procurement strategy
  • To develop the capability and performance of direct and indirect team and work with HR to recruit and promote talent across the department

Qualification and Experience required:

  • University graduate
  • Strong background of Marketing and Professional Services procurement
  • Expert in modern procurement & contract management
  • Experienced/Expert in e-sourcing (RFx and eAuctions)
  • Experience of change management and project management
  • With high standards of ethics and personal integrity and development of self and others
  • Experience of leading teams (internationally) and also be able to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail with strong numeracy and analytical skills to resolve complex business problems
  • Pro- active, self-motivated, well-organized, efficient and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills

Competencies required:

  • Excellent technical procurement skills, negotiation, leadership and people management skills, demonstrating expert category planning skills & strong commercial acumen

  • Building and nurturing strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers, at senior levels of their businesses to foster long-term & establishing effective supplier relationship and performance management processes
  • Motivating and coaching the Non-Trade Procurement teams
  • Capable of overseeing, coaching and managing the quality assurance of procurement strategies including the development of category plans, aligned with organisational goals, focusing on cost optimization, risk mitigation, and value maximization.
  • Ensuring the quality of the procurement activity aligns with the Non-Trade Procurement standards and policies.
