We’re looking to add a Manager, GSBM (Commodity) in

in Singapore.

The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.

As a Manager, GSBM (Commodity), you will:

Under the direction of the Division Manager, is responsible for managing a team of Commodity Specialist for the supplier base management and the sourcing of raw materials for the group. Continuously improving on cost reduction plan. Review all matrixes that is critical to the group and work in hand with the Business Unit for cus­tomer escalation on supply chain initiatives.

• Lead global, cross-functional team in developing, communicating and executing /developing a cohesive commodity strategy to provide lowest total landed cost materials to global design and manufacturing locations, while ensuring that supplier base provides the component technologies and responsiveness required to meet the end-product technology roadmaps.
• Benchmark commodity industry and perform cost plus analysis to ensure world-class pricing is obtained.
• Responsibilities include supplier identification, quotation, negotiation, selection, qualification, contracting and management for global aggregated demands.
• Identify lowest total cost solutions and drive qualification and approval in designer applications.
• Develop, maintain and enforce approved standard supplier and component lists to be used in all new designs.
• Identify sole and singles sourced component usage which jeopardizes continuity of supply, and develop solutions to reduce risk.
• Negotiate supplier inventory arrangements and lead-times to support customer responsiveness and manufacturing flexibility at individual sites.
• Support local buyers designers and contract manufacturers on supplier issues. Manage supplier performance, ratings, forecasting and reviews.
• Maintain centralized commodity database, utilizing supply chain management tools (SAP), to ensure that information is correct and usable by all global locations.

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

• Master/ Degree in Business Administration / Purchasing / Material Management/ Science or Engineering or Equivalent Experience plus CPM/CPIM Certification.
• Minimum 7 – 10 years’ experience in procurement related in electronics (experience in the power supply, electronics component manufacturing and / or distribution industries is a plus).
• Knowledge of and experience with OEM and Distribution channels of supply.
• Know the ledge of ROHS compliance requirements.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to successfully lead a collaborate, cross functional, cross-cultural team.
• Strong negotiation and contracting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of and compliance with legal and ethical aspects of purchasing and contracting.
• Strategic planning and methodology on a global scale.
• Analytical approach to problem solving.
• Use of data warehouse.
• Knowledge of supply chain planning/purchasing tools, desirable.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
