Purchasing Specialist (US MNC/Production/East)

The Opportunity

• We are partnering with a global leader in semiconductor and advanced manufacturing technology, supporting high-volume production and precision engineering operations.
• This role plays a critical part in direct procurement and supplier management, ensuring the timely sourcing of parts, spares, and engineering components to support manufacturing excellence.

The Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in direct purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and material specifications.
• Hands-on experience using SAP and preferably PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter).
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage supplier performance and cross-functional collaboration.

The Responsibilities

• Perform direct purchasing activities including creation of Purchase Orders (POs) based on supplier lead time, approved pricing, and production requirements.
• Interpret and provide engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to suppliers to ensure accurate part manufacturing and delivery.
• Manage supplier performance by tracking delivery schedules, ensuring timely updates in SAP, and resolving delivery issues.
• Follow established processes for order tracking, ECN implementation, FAI coordination, and GR/IR follow-ups.
• Collaborate with engineering, MPM, and SCM teams to identify new suppliers and support cost reduction initiatives.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels by coordinating with manufacturing and supply chain teams while ensuring material availability for production.
