Assistant Facility Manager

Our company is looking for an Assistant Facility Manager for our client newly constructed factory in Tuas area.

Roles & Responsibilities

Role Function:

Assist the facility manager and responsible for technical issues and deliver high level of property management services for a newly constructed high technology manufacturing factory at Tuas area.

In addition, oversee the defects management during the defect’s liability period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Upkeep: Conduct routine technical inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on critical equipment, including ACMV, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Supervision: Assist the facility manager in overseeing a team of technical staff.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose technical issues, resolve breakdowns swiftly, and minimize operational downtime. Be prepared to be hands-on when needed.
  • Smart Infrastructure:  Assist the facility manager in managing Smart Building Systems (BMS) and digital twins that integrate energy management with real-time occupancy and production data.
  • EHS:  Lead EHS topics relating to facility services.
  • Documentation:  Maintain logs of technical equipment performance, manage maintenance records, track spare parts inventory, and generate reports to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Project Support:  Assist the facility manager on the taking over, testing and commissioning of new systems installed at site. Work together with main contractor & Siemens project team ensuring a proper handover of equipment to Siemens.
  • Maintenance Schedule: Plan the technical maintenance schedule and monitor the work process.
  • Budget Planning: Assist in the planning and managing of the technical budget for the facility.
  • Vendor Management: Supervision on the technical outsourced subcontractors ensuring terms of contracts are followed.
  • Defects Management: Oversee the entire defects rectification during the defect liability period. Record, track and monitor the defects rectification progress in a systematic manner. Coordinate with users & contractors for the access& working duration. Ensure a proper handover and takeover process is conducted.

Technical Skills:

  • Relevant experience in managing industry buildings, manufacturing environment, etc.
  • Hands on experience in troubleshooting issues relating to technical issues.
  • Has working experience in smart infrastructure like BMS, smart lightings & meters, solar panels, EV chargers, etc.
  • Experience in defects management during defects liability period is an added advantage.

Education/Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in facilities or plant maintenance.
