Job Description - Department Manager

Job Summary/Purposes

The Department Manager is a professional in the assigned goods category who is responsible for promoting brand loyalty to customers in the luxury goods sector in order to guarantee the achievement of the quantitative and qualitative objectives set for his/her department and for the store. He/she represents the company and is a proactive sales professional who operates according to the directions received from the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

Sales:

  • Reflects the corporate image in terms of standing and ensures that the Staff is also aligned.
  • Liaises with the other Department Managers regarding all issues related to the product and internal processes.
  • Is constantly up-to-date regarding fashion trends, knows and monitors competitors keeping his/her team always aligned and up-to-date.
  • Keeps his/her team constantly posted on the Store/department performance.

Customer Management & CRM:

  • Promotes customer loyalty, informs the Store Manager about Top clients and VIPs.
  • Tracks the follow up actions and new clients sourcing done by his/her team.
  • Guarantees excellent customer welcoming and service and supervises sales to ensure customer satisfaction and that the qualitative standards required by our brand are maintained.

Store Staff:

  • Creates his/her team coordinating their activities in order to make sure that team members are always motivated and competent.
  • Detects and values each team member’s strength points, supporting his/her professional growth through the training and continuous coaching, in agreement with the Store Manager.
  • Defines quantitative and qualitative objectives and ensures they are achieved by results analysis, verifying monthly activities and setting up yearly assessments.
  • Prepares the planning, organizes and plans activities ensuring that the available resources can manage the expected workload.
  • Makes sure that the internal procedures are fully respected.

Product:

  • Has a deep product knowledge of his / her department.
  • Personally manages all delicate situations regarding issues related to the product.
  • Ensures that the department image and product care are in line with corporate standards and that the staff is aware of this standard.
  • Provides Retail Merchandisers with prompt and accurate feedback on any request of products related to his / her category.
