Hair Salon Manager

We are seeking an energetic, business-minded, and experienced Hair Salon Manager to oversee daily operations, lead our styling team, and drive branch revenue. The ideal candidate will blend strong commercial acumen with a deep passion for the hair industry. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining flawless salon hygiene, and meeting monthly sales targets through strategic retail.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Salon Operations

• Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house activities to guarantee a smooth client workflow.
• Manage client bookings, walk-ins, and floor rotations using salon POS software.
• Monitor and maintain strict cleanliness, sterilization, and safety standards across all styling stations and wash basins.
• Supervise weekly inventory counts, manage stock levels of professional chemical products, and handle procurement with local suppliers.

2. Team Leadership & Talent Management

• Plan and deploy weekly staff rosters, balancing floor coverage during peak weekend hours and public holidays.
• Recruit, onboard, and mentor junior stylists, apprentices, and receptionists.
• Conduct performance reviews and coordinate technical training workshops to keep the team updated on modern hair trends.
• Foster a positive, cooperative, and highly motivated team environment to minimize staff turnover.

3. Sales Drive

• Take full accountability for the salon's monthly and annual service and retail sales targets.
• Analyze daily sales data and implement strategic promotions to upsell premium hair & scalp treatments or high-margin retail products.

4. Customer Experience & Retention

• Maintain a premium service standard, ensuring every client receives an exceptional experience from greeting to checkout.
• Actively build long-term relationships with VIP clientele to boost repeat salon visits.
• Handle complex customer feedback, service complaints, or pricing disputes swiftly and professionally.

Job Requirements

Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in salon management, retail store management, or hospitality operations. Experience working specifically within a fast-paced hair or beauty studio is highly preferred.

Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with professional hair care brands, chemical treatments (coloring, perming, rebonding), and trending styles. (Note: Technical hairdressing skills are a strong plus but not mandatory if administrative leadership is exceptional).

Software Skills: Proficient in using salon POS systems, scheduling software, and basic Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking.

Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding leadership abilities with a track record of managing a team of 10+ retail staff.

Communication: Excellent communication skills in English to converse with diverse clients. Fluency in Mandarin or other local languages is an advantage when communicating with local suppliers and team demographics.

Availability: Flexible and willing to work retail hours, including late shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
