Wholesale Trade Manager – Job Description

Job Summary

The Wholesale Trade Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the company's wholesale trading activities. This includes managing business development, customer relationships, procurement, inventory, sales operations, and ensuring the efficient distribution of products to corporate clients, retailers, distributors, and other wholesale customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage the overall wholesale trading operations.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to increase wholesale revenue and market share.
• Identify and establish relationships with new distributors, retailers, and corporate customers.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key business partners.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and supply agreements with customers and suppliers.
• Monitor sales performance and prepare regular sales forecasts and business reports.
• Coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely product availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock management.
• Oversee order processing, delivery schedules, and customer fulfilment.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify new business opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable Singapore regulations.
• Prepare annual sales budgets, operating plans, and financial forecasts.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate wholesale sales and operations staff.
• Resolve customer complaints and operational issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with finance, marketing, procurement, and logistics departments to improve business performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in wholesale trading, distribution, sales management, or business development.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of wholesale trading operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
• Experience in contract negotiation and customer relationship management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/inventory management systems.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
